My Review
Jordan finally found success in Network Marketing after working and failing for over ten years.Β He just couldn’t stay away.Β This book contains much of the same success principles as many other network marketing books, which is comforting.Β It means that anyone can be successful if they apply these principles.
I love Jordan’s application, his stories, and his style in sharing his success with us.Β Here is a summary of what he shares:
- Beach Money is receiving money long after you have earned it by obtaining a source of income that grows and continues to pay dividends – his Beach Money came from Network Marketing.
- Jordan’s Story is filled with many attempts at network marketing and his many failures, then he visits the beach.
- Jordan’s Dream was finally recorded one day when everything was going wrong.Β Many years later he found this record and discovered he got everything he wanted.
- Family and Friends didn’t understand Jordan’s efforts to find success in network marketing.
- Jordan Spoke on stage many years later when he had finally found success.Β It was a culmination of many dreams coming true.
- Recruit 20-30 people to be successful.Β Numbers don’t lie.Β The key to success is recruiting a number of people and let the people filter out.Β Some will be successful and some will not just contact, teach, and recruit over and over.
- Leverage means building a system and helping others succeed through creating value through business.
- Make more even if you work less when you have a network of people all working together.
- Beach Money model is better than getting a second job, getting a raise, going back to college, or opening a franchise or traditional business.
- Change your thinking will bring you success.Β Jest get out there and do it and learn through experience.
- How we choose to interpret the world around us greatly determines your success.Β Take a look at your circumstances and how you interpret them.
- Β Believe in yourself if you are going to believe anything, it might as well be a belief that supports you to your goals.
- Momentum comes when people are engaged and your business is moving forward as the numbers mount up.
- Networking is the most important skill.Β Meet people.Β Make friends.Β Add them to your contacts.
- Each contact is worth hundreds if not thousands to your business whether or not you sell to them.
- Your Life is measured in time.Β The beach money method will get you to your dreams faster than other methods.
- Break even in all your endeavors to make your network marketing business work.Β You need to make money and make sure it works.
- Replace yourself quickly.Β The idea is not to manage your team, but get them to the point where they will manage themselves.Β Free up your time to make room for success.
- Strategies from Jordan:
- Focus on distribution Not sales
- Focus on passive income
- Be well connected
- Your environment must support your cause
- Make friends without an agenda
- Create memorable experience with your friends (partners)
- Invest in yourself
- Dream freely
- Act and adjust – don’t analyze
- Focus on people skills not technology
- Outsource as much as possible
- Keep your message simple and consistent
In conclusion, Jordan is an awesome, successful network marketer and has done a wonderful job in sharing the principles that will bring you success, too.

- He was invited to Russβs home
- He was a young multi-millionaire
- The next 30 minutes changed his life forever
- Russβs home was amazingβ¦
- Russβs Advice
- Recruiting
- You need to be prepared to Recruit 20-30 people
- Time Wasted
- Time spent on trying to get less motivated people to grow
- Better off spending the time recruiting 20-30 people
- Any industry
- Anyone successful will tell you that you need to recruit 20-30 people to get a big hitter
- Application
- He worked for a small company, which had a recruiting opportunity
- He would use 3 lunches to show his opportunity to new people
- GOAL: Show the business to 3 people per week (two year plan)
- Recruit approx.. 20 people
- Over 2 years, he would reach his goalβ¦
- Comparison: Mr. Applewhite convinced hundreds of people to commit suicide
- If this person could convince people to die, you can convince people to do network marketing
- How it played out
- He was very poor in the beginning
- Car was a dud
- Apartment was dismal
- Bank account and checkbook was dreadful
- He made a grid on the wall to track his progress
- He would sign people up
- There was very little money to make in the beginning
- He was the only one who did work in the beginning
- At about 24 months, he had 19 distributors
- He then got a distributor on his team that changed everything
- In a few months, she took off
- Income skyrocketed
- Then he experienced momentum
- His dreams began to come true β he had more money than he needed to spend
- Russ was right
- In his 15th month, he decided to make a career of it β he resigned
- His boss later joined him
- Old School vs. Traditional
- Fundamentals of building relationships do not change
- Technology can help or it can be a distraction
- Build business one person at a time
- He started the same way as anyone else
- He cannot take all the credit himself
- He attracted ordinary people with no network marketing experience
- Automatic systems do not do the work for you in crea
- His advice-points to consider
- You must have a plan and stick to it for 18 to 24 months
- You can build serious income on a lunchtime schedule
- Usually your big-income growth will be tied to the work of 1 or 2 people
- To find the 1 or 2, you must find and train at least 20-30
- 60-90% of the people you talk to will probably be uninterested
- Technology will not replace the fundamentals of building a successful business
- Regardless of how financially tough your situation is, you can turn it around in 18-24 months with a consistent plan
- He was very poor in the beginning
Chapter 7 β How to get paid big money whether you go to work or not
- He gets paid whether he works or not
- True financial wealth is created through leverage
- Making money is EASIRE than working for the money
- Income from your own work β linier income
- You get paid only when you work
- Income from systems β non-linier income
- You get paid long into the future
- Once you cover your expenses, you have passive income
- Leverage
- Not taught in school
- When applied correctly, it can change your life
- Most people write the idea off as a scam
- Most great fortunes (maybe all of them) were created through leverage
- Example moped vs. airplane
- The airplane is leverage (a better vehicle) for getting you to your destination
- The airplane is like network marketing
- Income from your own work β linier income
Chapter 8 β My Hourly pay when up when I started working less
- He used to look for jobs where he might earn a bit more
- He used to work on resumes and interview skills
- Looked at details, and sent a thank you card
- Got raises and began to make more
- Then his company downgraded his job and cut his pay
- Traditional vs. Network marketing
- In traditional, you only get paid when you ask for more
- With beach money, you pay yourself
- Your pay might go up if even if you cut your hours
- Cut hours and make more
- With beach money, your pay is not tied to the hours you work
Chapter 9 β A few ways to make money
- Comparing ways to make extra money to the Beach money model
- Getting a second job
- Your boss decides your pay increase
- Limited income potential
- Linier income β paid once for your work
- Paid on time
- Donβt get paid if you quit
- Minimal personal growth opportunities
- Go back to college
- Pay up to 200K to get your job
- Only guaranteed a diploma β no job guarantee
- No job guarantee
- Classroom training
- Opening a franchise
- Hire and manager employees
- Buy capital equipment
- Invest up to 200K upfront

- Long term leases
- Franchise fees
- 3-5 years to break even
- Your business owns you β no time freedom
- Getting a second job
Chapter 10 β Minor Change in Thinking Transformed Bank Account
- Beach money lifestyle began when stripped down to the most important goals
- Itβs easy to say AND itβs easy to do
- You can break down what you need to do in two or three easy things
- Just become really good at those basics and put your focus there
- Story of two guys
- One guy just learns
- The other guy does stuff
- Keep it simple
- Anything hard to think about or understand is not duplicatable
- Just break it down to three small or simple goals
- Daily things you need to do
- Scheduling your dreams
- Think of only 2 or 3 things that you dream of doing
- Write them down (they need to be things you want to accomplish in about three days)
Chapter 11 β Bedwetting and what it means
- Your mind is a powerful computer
- You mind and your imagination creates what you want and get
- When you donβt get what you want, it is because your beliefs hold you back
- Your feelings determine what you attract
- He tells a story of wetting the bed
- He kept waking up in a puddle of warm liquid
- After worrying and being troubled about wetting the bed
- Paranoid and even visited the doctor
- He discovered that there was a pin-sized hole in the waterbed
- Your mind does not know the difference between what is real and what is not
- Evidence and interpretation by brain
- Beliefs are formed β then you look at the world through those beliefs
- Actions driven by feelings, which are driven by beliefs
- Example: network marketing
- People you know get involved in network marketing and donβt make money
- Lots of different ways to interpret why things went that way
- Some interpretations (no training, lazy, quitters) support what you do
- Example: meet charismatic people who are successful in network marketing
- There are several ways to interpret this
- Some of them support you, and others do no
- Choosing interpretations will result in a different future
- Choose an interpretation that supports you
- Application
- Take a look at your circumstances and how you are interpreting them
- Donβt underestimate the power of your mind
- How you are interpreting it may be how things are
Chapter 12 β A New Perspective
- As your views shift, our lives shift
- As our perspective shifts, so do our choices
- Used to own an old Jeep
- Beat up and run down
- He hit a car and his jeep was damaged
- He was driving down the road and couldnβt see anything as he was driving
- A police car pull him over and gave him a ticket
- He didnβt have money to replace the windshield
- Lesson: focusing on problems makes them bigger
- Adler curse β if there is anything to go wrong, it will go wrong for an Adler (label of unlucky)
- Labels can all shift the beliefs of a child
- He thought that he was just an unlucky person
- Things didnβt work out because of the curse β he couldnβt escape it
- Someone told him that he had a star following him (he was lucky)
- He believed it, and things changed overnight
- He started attracting good things and lucky things
- Your subconscious mind begins to look for and support that belief
- Because of that belief, he attracts lots of luck
- Attract luck
- Just believe
- A small act that will change your life
- Had a neighbor, Don, whose life was depressed, which inspired Jordan

- You donβt need to know everything
- When, learning to hang glide, he would practice over and over
- He would work on it over and over for hours studying as much as he could

- He was picked last for every sports team
- It angered him and made him resent the other kids at school
- He wasnβt good at sports, no he builds his own team and everyone has a chance to be on his team
- Sometimes the greatest gifts in life come from your hardest trials in life
Chapter 13 β The day momentum hit
- He signed up with his umpteenth network marketing company
- He heard about an opportunity meeting
- He had one guest come
- A charismatic speaker came, there was energy in the room
- He felt bad that he only had one guest β he felt bad
- He felt that he could never be as good as Al, the speaker
- Al was a master and very successful person
- He realized that Al only had one guest, there was no one that had much more than a few guests
- He heard that there were big leaders that had many people joining their teams every month
- He realized that it was just people, one person inviting another
- Understanding momentum
- This is a buzz word, but is not what it seems
- Al only had a few guests
- He had 30 people on his team
- He only personally signed up just one, but there were so many people on his team that brought in many different people
- It may seem impossible to have thousands of people on your team
- You just find one or two, then those people find one or two
- This would feed on itself over and over, doubling her and there
- And then over time, this will turn into thousands
- Time lines and growth
- The amount of time that it takes to bring someone onboard does not speed up
- It just appears to be faster when you have a lot of people working together on the team
- The numbers that continue to add appear like the growth is coming
- Momentum in life
- Children growing, cells dividing
- People getting a cold
- Network Marketing
- You bring in 1-5 people, nothing happens
- Those people bring in more
- Month by month, you bring in people and people bring in people
- It costs money and takes a while to make any money
- 95% of people quit at the difficult moments
- Month 12, you are still bringing in the same amount of people
- The team is now bringing in lots of people
- It begins to grow and take on a life of its own
- People are also making money
- You are successful
Chapter 14 β Rolodex Marketing: Money Does Grow On Trees

- Being connected is very important
- You just need to make a phone call and find people who can do what you need
- You have everything you need to get anything done
- Your network is the most important thing you have
- Rolodex
- A rolodex is just a contact manager
- Today, you have a contact manager, it is the key to your success
- Your success will be determined by two things:
- The number of names in your contact manager
- The quality of the relationship in there
- You want to know people
- You want people to know you and what you do
- You need to be in front of people and make sure they know what you are up to
- Things to do
- Add one or two people to your contacts every day
- View your contact manager as an opportunity to give back
- Every day scan your contacts and ask yourself, what can I do to give back

- View each person as a potential sale
- Focus on these five things
- Add people to your network each day β add them to your contact manager
- Get to know them
- Make sure they know you and what you do
- Acknowledge the people in your network with contacts (give value)
- View people in your network as an opportunity to give rather than to get
- Do not attempt to automate the personal touch
- You cannot touch people by emails
- Value
- Your contact list is more valuable than your wallet
- Do it
- Make an entry into your contact system each time you meet someone
- Make sure you keep it up to date and scan it often
Chapter 15 β How I Turn Pieces of Cardboard Into Hundred Dollar Bills
- Your job is to help people look at situations differently, and change their lives
- Example: Business cards
- Pay 5c each
- If you have a $100 business card
- If you collect 100 business cards,
- If worth 5c You would have $5 worth or cardboard
- If worth $100 You would have about $10,000 worth of cards
- Question: How do you turn each of those pieces of cardboard into $100 bills
- How much business would you do with someone if they stayed with you over the lifetime
- Each time you take action, it is more possible to change these contacts into lifelong customers
- Actions
- Make a call to each, one becomes lifetime customers
- Send a card, buy lunch, give a gift, send a recommendation, send some business
- $5,000 is the lifetime value of the customer
- If 100 business cards and 2 become lifetime customers, $10,000 divided by 100 is $100
- Thatβs how you turn business cards into $100 bills (each β on average)
- How would you treat each contact or card if each one is worth $100?
- You would treat them differently
- This is a way of thinking that millionaires use
- Alsoβ¦
- These people also find other people in network marketing
- Real life example
- His simple equation $100,000 a month divided by the cards he collects means these cards are very valuable indeed
Chapter 16 β The One-Dollar Yard Stick Solution
- A Yardstick holds a solution for planning your future.
- Each inch represents every year of your life
- Most productive years in the middle β workingβ¦
- Normal way β 22 inches
- Beach money way β 2 inches (the amount of time it takes you to accomplish what you did in 22 inches the normal way)
Chapter 17 β How to Get Really Rich by Breaking Even
- Jay Smith β experienced
- Jordan had a new distributor in another state β should he travel there?
- βCan you make the trip and break even?β
- He figured it out, it would cost him $300, if he could enroll three people, the trip would break even
- It didnβt work out for him then, but on a second trip, it was also a flop,

- Last job, boss is Jack Burmbaum, leadership advice
Chapter 19 β Strategies For Creating Beach Money
- Focus on Distribution NOT Sales
- Many people with terrible sales skills that make lots of money
- Lots of successful sales people who fall on their face in network marketing
- Strong track records in sales mean very little in network marketing
- Selling is linear in nature
- Beach money is different β gives you the freedom to stop working and get paid
- Focus on distribution
- Goal: have lots of people that make a few sales each
- Difference
- Sales β you can buy as many as you want for $1
- Will never retire
- To make money, you need to keep selling the product
- No time for free time
- Vending Machine (beach money)
- You earn 10c for each item sold
- It will be paid for and stocked and maintained
- Things will also be accounted for
- EXTRA
- You purchase one machine, and you can earn money from machines all over the world
- To make lots of money, you need to arrange to have hundreds of machines placed in other locations
- Your job is not to sell sodas, it is to market the distribution of machines
- Focus on passive nonlinear income vs. Linear income
- Working in a hourly job and getting raises does not have rewards of beach money
- Take immediate action to build a system

- Make friends to make friends
- How do you approach friends about your business opportunity?
- Tell them what you are up to
- Donβt try to recruit them
- Itβs all about your intention
- Ask them for referrals
- If you tell them what you are up to and they start asking questions, that shows they are interested
- Create memorable experiences for yourself and others
- Create gatherings with fun experiences
- People will remember these things and stick around
- Everyone likes to get together and have fun
- There is no need to structure training around these gatherings

- Analyzing is a process of logic
- Success is not logic β there will be no past evidence for growth
- You will not be able to figure out everything in advance
- You have no evidence that it is possible (no one has evidence that it is possible)
