Can any good come from worrying?

Worrying is concentrating on or being motivated by a fearful outcome. Many people think that their worrying is serving them by providing that motivation. But there is a much better way. And your worrying may be causing more harm than good.
In his book The Big Leap, Gay Hindricks talks about worrying as a symptom of what he calls upper limiting (when we are uncomfortable with a higher level of success and our subconscious does something to bring our success down to a level we are comfortable with).
“When things are going well, or when you’re feeling particularly good, you can always bring yourself down by manufacturing a stream of worry-thoughts.”

Here is what I came away with:
1. When you worry about things you can’t change, you are wasting energy
2. When you worry about things that are not important, you waste energy
3. If you are worrying on something that you can change and should change, rather than worry, just make the change and move on
4. It seems that worrying is only helpful when you are thinking about something you can do and can take immediate action on
So, unless the thing you are worrying about is something you can do something about right away, you can dismiss the worry-thought. How to dismiss it? Acknowledge it then focus on something else without giving any more time to the worry-thought. If you need to make a reminder or take action, do. Then move on.
