Have you ever wondered what it would be like to just look at a book and know exactly what’s in it? That would be great. I can’t do that, but I can give you an idea of what to expect in my new book, Live a Happier, Fuller Life.
This is a really awesome book.
I read a lot of personal development books (you can see my full list here), and I’ve always wanted a book to cover all aspects of personal development. I know there can’t be a book to do everything, but at least have a bit of all the best principles and teachings out there. And I wanted that book to contain tools like checklists, worksheets, and exercises to help you put what you learn into practice. I wanted to see how one idea in one area of personal development relates to another. Well, that’s what I created here. It’s kind of a curation of all the greatest principles and content that I’ve come across organized into ONE UNIFIED FRAMEWORK.
What’s that framework?
There are basically 4 Steps of Personal Development and 6 Life Areas.
- 4 Steps of Personal Development
- Wake up 🚪
- Get clear 👁🎯 🔍
- Focus 🧠=🧠
- Move forward 🏃📈
- 6 Areas of Life
- 3 INNER AREAS
- Character (improving who you are)
- Wellness (your greatest asset)
- Wealth (be a good steward of your own)
- 3 OUTER AREAS
- Relationships (connecting to and interacting with others)
- Contribution (making humanity better)
- Lifestyle (enjoyment, freedom, adventure)
- 3 INNER AREAS
These steps of personal development are not some random thought steps. They are actually a synthesis of all the many formulas for personal development that you find out there. Here are just a few that I mention in my book.
- T > F > A = R: (Thoughts lead to Feelings lead to Actions which bring about Results). In his book, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, T. Harv Eker refers to this formula as the process of manifestation.
- E + R = O: (Event + Response = Outcome) Jack Canfield calls this the responsibility formula in his book The Success Principles by Jack Canfield and Janet Switzer.
- B > T > F > A > R: (Beliefs inspire your Thoughts which influence your Feelings that lead to your Actions that determine your Results). I’m not sure where I got this formula, but it seems to be a common version among personal development experts.
- S – C – R: (In between Stimulus and Response, you have a Choice) Dr. Stephen Covey in his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, refers to this as your opportunity to direct your life. He drew heavily from Dr Viktor Frankl’s work.
- E>D>A>D: (Emotions trigger Decisions which cause Actions that lead to your Destiny). Tony Robbins in this in his programs and books. See Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins and Ultimate Edge.
- C+D+C+A+P+A=>R: (6 Success Elements: Clarification, Deliberation, Choice, Affirmation, Planning, and Acting bring Results). “A well-known Italian psychiatrist, Dr. Rudolph Assagioli, found that successful people use specific steps that include clarification, deliberation, choice, affirmation, planning, and acting on the plan.” See more in the book, Stress Free for Good by Frederic Luskin and Dr. Ken Pelletier; CH6.
- C + B => A: (Whatever your mind can Conceive and Believe, it can Achieve); In his book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill describes this mindset formula in the simplistic concept of, “think it and get it.”
- T + F => R: (Your Thoughts and Feelings create your Results). This is the formula of the Law of Attraction, which is the basis philosophy of the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. The basic thrust of this philosophy is that we attract whatever we desire, focus on, or expect.
- Y,T,W,D>>G: Watch yourself, your thoughts, words, and deeds to achieve the goal of becoming what you want to become.[1] This comes from religious teachings about what thoughts you entertain.
- V>B>M>A>S>T>M>E>F>W>A>H>C>P>YOU: There are many forms of this concept out there. This is a synthesized version of everything I’ve seen. For our purposes, let’s call it the creation continuum or the levels of creation starting with a set of core foundational principles and values and eventually ending up with who you become as a person. You plant the seed at the base of your values, and you blossom into a unique individual. And, of course, you have a choice to influence each level along the continuum.
If you look at all the formulas, they basically all tell you the same thing over and over from different points of view. They basically all agree that 4 things need to happen for you to progress. Those 4 things are (1) you need to realize that you can change, (2) you need to decide what you want, (3) you need to believe it and focus your efforts on it, and (4) you need to physically do something about it through taking action.
The second part of the book focuses on the 6 areas of life. All personal development goals for your life usually fall in specific categories. And a quick survey of personal development works out there uncovered over 62 life categories. However, most of them are basically the same or can be easily grouped together. So simplifying those categories down into a manageable amount, here are the 6 life areas where you would set goals and where you will find much of the advice for personal development. I’ve separated these 6 categories into two groups (inner-life victories and outer-life victories).
INNER LIFE AREAS | OUTER LIFE AREAS | ||||
CHARACTER | WELLNESS | WEALTH | RELATIONSHIPS | CONTRIBUTION | LIFESTYLE |

So, think you’ll find that ALL personal development advice will fit into these 10 categories. And that’s the framework that my book takes. The book is organized around this framework. It first takes you through the 4 steps and then through the 6 life areas. A lot of care and attention was put into what steps and areas to include and in what order.
This book is basically all the best of the basic personal development out there organized and presented in a manner that is fun to learn, easy to understand, and easy to implement.
The concepts become easy to implement due to all the notes, checklists, worksheets, and exercises included in the book. It contains over..
- 61 Worksheets
- 39 Exercises
- 71 Notes
- 28 Graphs and Tables
- 7 Quizzes
- 24 Checklists
- 34 Diagrams
You can use the ones in the book or order the workbook, which contains all the notes, checklists, worksheets, and exercises in a larger format. These tools will help you analyse and put into practice all the elements of the book.
