Let’s face it: life gets tough sometimes. Let us respond with positivity and stick through the trials. Doing so will helps us learn from the trial. We end up becoming a better person throughout the ordeal.
You can’t just pick up character development over a weekend when it’s convenient for you. It’s when inconvenient things happen at times that are unexpected. It’s how you respond to those things happening. It’s by consistently choosing to do the right things. And it’s not something you can wait for those moments when tough trials come. That’s not when you build character either. That’s when it is used. You must intentionally build it over time through both the thick and the thin. Through trials and hardships and through the normal ups and downs of life.
“Faith will forge strength of character available to you in times of urgent need. Such character is not developed in moments of great challenge or temptation. That is when it is used. Character is woven patiently from threads of principle, doctrine, and obedience.”~Elder Richard G. Scott (link)
The best measure of progression is how much we develop as a person (our character).
