Some people might wonder, “Should I pass on what I’ve learned or share my secrets of success with others?” Is it wise to tell others what brought you success? Will it create unnecessary or unwanted competition? Will telling others how you found success somehow harm you when you share it? These are really good questions. Here is a quote from Yoda that helps give some guidance in answering it.
“Always pass on what you have learned.” — Yoda, Star Wars
We don’t live in isolation. People need people.
The human family benefits when we help and serve each other. We gain great joy through serving. Most successful people are more than eager to share their success. It almost never harms them. On the contrary, it gives them great joy. We gain success by walking in the footsteps of others and those that follow can gain success in walking in our footsteps. Share freely and generously. It also doesn’t mean that you give away your trade secrets or allow dangerous people to know your sensitive secrets. You must use your intelligence to know the difference.
This doesn’t meant that you should copy others word for word carbon copy. No. You must learn from them and be yourself. Your best version of yourself.
So, share your knowledge and gifts generously with those that follow.
